Call for 1st EMF-Med Training School grants

2nd Call for grant applications: 1st EMF- Med Training School on Biomedical Applications of Electromagnetic Fields

Application deadline: Monday, July 9th 2018 at 12:00h (noon) CET – This Call has ended.

On September 13-15, 2018 the 1st EMF- Med Training School on Biomedical Applications of  Electromagnetic Fields, organized by COST EMF – MED (Action BM1309), will take place at FESB, University of Split, Split, Croatia. The Training School will take place adjacent to (i.e. immediately following) the 1st EMF-Med World Conference 10-13 September 2018 ( ), providing the possibility to participate at both events forming an entire EMF-Med week in Split. However, note that the conference and the Training School are separate events, and attending the conference is not mandatory.

School announcement, showing the timeline of the entire week, is attached to this Call, and the updated info regarding the Course can be seen here:

COST EMF-MED is glad to offer at least 24 grants of up to €600. Different grant amounts can be attributed to each trainee, based on the trainee’s point of origin. Grants will be paid as fixed grants after the Training School. According to COST Vademecum, 5.3 (COST Vademecum), the Trainee Grant is a contribution to the overall travel, accommodation and meal expenses of the Grantee.

The school registration fee for COST grantees is set to €250. Note: The discounted fee of €200 applies to those trainees registering also for the conference. Light lunches, coffee breaks, complimentary welcome and farewell cocktails are included. The registration fee is paid directly to the local organizers of school. Accommodation will be offered at student dorms at ca. €30 per night.

Important notes if you plan to also attend the 1st EMF-Med World Conference,10-13 September, i.e. to attend the entire EMF-Med Week, which would maximize your benefit (besides the discounted fee):

– If you plan to attend the conference, separate registration will be required (FYI, early student fee is €150, lunches and amenities included), see the conference web site:

– If you get the Training School grant AND you attend the conference, you will be offered the same student dorm accommodation extending to the whole week, for the same price of €30 per night.

– If you get the Training School grant AND you attend the conference AND you get reimbursed for the conference (check the COST EMF-MED web site for that possibility): your travel to/from Split, and the days/nights associated to the Training School, are considered already covered by the Training School grant. Consequently, your conference reimbursement will be eligible only for the extra costs of the conference attending days (extra nights and meals) exceeding the Training School duration. Thus you will have all expenses covered for the whole week, but without any duplications.

All question related to the fee, registration and on-site logistics should be directed to the EMF-Med Training School director, prof. Antonio Šarolić, e-mail:
